About the Author
Allan Moffat was born the second youngest of twelve children, on a farm in south central Manitoba. As a timid, but
inquisitive young man in search of meaning and purpose, his early years were full of diversity. He worked at various
farming jobs around his hometown of Portage la Prairie, surveyed for the Highways Department of Manitoba in Winnipeg,
and was a sheep herder, oil driller and metal worker in several areas of Alberta, eventually returning to Manitoba
as a miner in Thompson.
With his heart saying, "Go west, young man, go west", Allan made his way to British Columbia, working first in the
pulp and paper industry near Prince Rupert and then on to the greater Vancouver area where he pursued sales,
manufacturing and finally public service. Having finally found his niche, he spent 35 years as a transit operator
in the Greater Vancouver area.
Now retired, Allan lives on the West Coast with his wife Beverly and their son Anthony. He enjoys the mountains,
forests, and ocean, where he delights in the sights and sounds of nature. His pastimes include reading a good book,
tinkering in the garden, as well as hiking, theatre, travel and entertaining friends with Beverly. His favorite
pastime, however, is sharing his faith with anyone who is seeking a richer and more meaningful life.
Allan enjoys serving others and is actively involved in his community, his local church and a non-profit society
called Luke 15 House that ministers to the needs of men who struggle with addictions and lack of self-esteem.
